Plan to stop boy racers, vandalism in Hornby BY GRACE CABELL Boy racers causing problems in Hornby may soon be stopped. In a bid to stop vandalism in the area, the Riccarton-Wigram Community Board has asked for Branston St to be added to a city council list of prohibited roads. Under the city council’s Cruising Bylaw 2010 the street’s night-time closure would run from Boston Ave to Halswell Junction Rd. Property owners in the industrial area have complained about boy racers causing excessive noise and damaging property in the industrial area. Board chairman Mike Mora said

the road was well overdue to be banned from boy racer activity. Mr Mora said with no night-time security in the area, boy racers were taking advantage. “They congregate in the area because it’s unmanned,” he said. Secretary of the Hornby Community Patrol, Ann Smith, lived nearby. She said she had not noticed an increase in boy racer noise but had noticed a boom in graffiti in the last two weeks. “Branston St got hit really hard and it had never really been hit before. Usually there is a correlation,” she said.

Concern raised Plan to stop boy racers over renting rooms in Ilam BY GRACE CABELL

&

Housing concerns have been raised by residents in Ilam and Upper Riccarton. Residents are concerned family homes are being made into living arrangements which are “not normal residential units” and are being used more like commercial operations. Riccarton-Wigram Community Board member Mike Mora said he had been made aware of homes on Parkstone Ave with bedrooms rented separately and run like boarding houses. He said it was a “step worse” than family homes split up to create multiple bedroom student accommodation. City council acting resource consents unit manager John Gibson said there was nothing in the council’s city plan which restricted renting out rooms to individuals, as long as they met the requirements of being a residential unit. “To be one residential unit, there must only be

McMASTER HEAP VETERINARY PRACTICE

The IMPORTANCE of a HEALTHY MOUTH Dentistry on cats and dogs would be one of the most common daily surgeries carried out by the vets at McMaster & Heap Vet practice. Most days we perform between 4-6 dental surgeries. Most pets, unless very young, have diseased, unhealthy mouths that require attention. It is not common practice for owners to inspect their pets mouth let alone brush their dogs teeth but regularly doing this could significantly improve your pets mouth and overall health. Our pets are born with perfect teeth but will not stay this way without proactive measures by us. A healthy mouth is so important for your special pets overall health. 80% of plaque is comprised of nasty bacteria that can progress to hepatitis, pyelonephritis ( infection in the kidneys), bladder infections, joint infections and even endocarditis ( infection around the heart valves). Prevention of these diseases isn’t difficult – it just requires education on our part and time and commitment on yours. Dental hygiene for us is an unconscious daily ritual that our parents started for us – why shouldn’t our pets deserve the same treatment. Your pets mouth will be checked regularly by the vets and nurses at McMaster and Heap Vets at routine visits. The obvious signs of advanced dental disease are terrible breath, difficulty/ slowness eating dry food, salivating, weight loss, swelling around the jaw, lethargy, face rubbing and cats reduce their grooming and dogs stop playing with toys. Usually when we observe these clinical signs, there is periodontitis with diseased roots and the teeth are past saving and need to be extracted. We want to notice early stages of dental disease so teeth can ultimately be saved. Every animal is at risk of developing diseased mouths. During an examination, the gums and teeth will be inspected carefully. We check for oral ulcers, red infected gums, fractured teeth, rotton and loose teeth and we inspect the mouth carefully for cancers, enlarged tonsils and abscesses. We assess the lymph nodes and check the skin and coat around the mouth. We will advise the best treatment plan for our patient which may include dentistry under a general anaesthetic. Other treatments we recommend include feeding dental diets, tooth brushing regularly, mouth washes, knawing at large raw bones that can’t be chewed up and some toys are great for keeping teeth and gums healthy. Don’t worry, we won’t ask you to brush your cats teeth. We would have no show of pinning down Spartacus our very ADHD Abbysinnian!!

We are now able to make accurate decisions on whether a tooth needs to be extracted or not but performing dental radiography. A perfect image is projected via digital radiography onto a computer within seconds and we are clearly able to assess the tooth roots, the surrounding bone and soft tissues. This image gives us the necessary information to decide if we can save or need to remove a tooth in question. An excellent piece of technology which will allow us to practice state of the art dentistry and hopefully your pets will have their full set of teeth for longer!

one kitchen on the site and no kitchen/cooking facilities and/or living areas within any of the bedrooms,” he said. Mr Gibson said if it did not have communal facilities then it should be assessed as an ‘other activity’ under the city plan. Ilam and Upper Riccarton Residents Association chairman Peter Harding had placed submissions to the Proposed District Plan Review in a bid to stop the activity. He said the development of multiple residential units had been placed on back sections of family homes. Mr Harding said it had highlighted the need for protection of neighbours’ quality of living, safety and privacy. Mr Gibson said if it had more than one kitchen or any bedrooms was effectively a residential unit in their own right, then it should be assessed as multiple residential units. There were no changes proposed to this definition in the proposed Replacement District Plan.

•From page 1 Earlier this year boy racers cost one Branston St property owner nearly $3000 in damages after an air rifle was shot through the back window of his digger. Riccarton-Wigram board deputy chairwoman Helen Broughton said the issue rested largely on the fact the drivers were congregating in the area. “We were the first board to pass this bylaw in 2005 and we have always had issues with young people in cars the industrial area,” she said. The community board recommended under the city council bylaw that the period of time between each time a driver driving on a prohibited road would be four hours.

Bus stops opposed

Riccarton residents are opposing a city council plan to install 15 new bus stops in the area. The stops have been approved through a metro review by Environment Canterbury, for a better integrated public transport system. The city council is seeking approval from the Riccarton-Wigram Community Board. A discussion will be held at the upcoming community board meeting on Tuesday, November 18.

Disease in school

GENTLY: Grace and Ashley, of Aidanfield Christian School patting the sheep and goats.

Oaklands School has reported a case of hand-foot-and-mouth disease at the school. The case came from a member of the school’s year 0-3 kakano team. The school has reminded people to encourage thorough hand washing and hygiene practices, and for parents to keep an eye out for children who may have symptoms.

More plans for quarrying BY GRACE CABELL

Further proposed quarrying near residential housing in the west has many concerned. Winstone Aggregates has proposed quarry activity to be planned on a lifestyle block near residential homes in Yaldhurst. One of the homes would stay on the site, less than 50m away from quarrying activity. The homeowners would stay in place while the area was quarried. Other homes were less than 100m away from the quarry face. More than six neighbours would be directly affected. Riccarton-Wigram Community Board chairman Mike Mora

from the quarry activity could do to her health. She placed her first submission to the city council’s proposed District Plan Review in a bid to stop development. “I’ve never felt strongly enough about anything else to place one. But this just really got up my goat.” “Why don’t they go and put the quarry in the bloody dead zone where there is no one living,” she said. Both the Riccarton-Wigram and Fendalton-Waimairi community boards have placed numerous submissions to the city council’s Proposed Replacement District Plan.

A reward is being offered for any information relating to a tagging incident at Halswell KidsFirst late last month. TagStoppers business development manager Bill Johnson has issued a $250 reward after kindergarten children arrived on October 29 to find their building had been tagged overnight.

Master plan

The Riccarton-Wigram Community Board is seeking a master plan from the city council for residents around Canterbury University to be involved in planning of the area. On behalf of the Ilam Upper Riccarton Residents Association Lynette Hardie Wills and Richard English spoke to the community board with their key recommendations from a report on the ‘Student Urban Villages’ Teach-in Seminar held in July.

BRIDGESTONE TYRE CENTRE AND CHALLENGE HALSWELL HAVE BEEN RISING TO THEIR OWN CHALLENGES RECENTLY Challenge Halswell and Bridgestone Tyre Centre Challenge Halswell, family owned and operated since 1954, has recently expanded and is able to offer even more to the local community. Open seven days a week, they have an extensive range of services available, offering the same great service and competitive prices this trusted family firm prides itself on, supported by the reputation and quality of the Bridgestone and Firestone brands. Challenge Halswell has been providing customers with exceptional service for six decades. The business is owned and operated by Graeme Nicholl, established by his father and uncle over sixty years ago. The operation is now truly a family affair with son Mark managing the business. Bridgestone Tyre Centre Halswell sold the highest number of the iconic pink valve caps of all Bridgestone outlets in the South Island again in October. Pink valve caps are $2 each, or $8 per set of four with all proceeds donated to the NZBCF. “The Pink Caps are sold through the tyre shop and are also accessible through the service station,” says Mark. “They are a talking point when people come in.” Very visible signs about the campaign are located on site and the staff are committed to promoting the cause. The Pink Caps are a non profit line, and can be an

Breast cancer is such an emotive issue and public awareness has been heightened by social media campaigns. Bridgestone are committed to the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation by fundraising and raising awareness, shining the light on the importance of early detection. Bridgestone’s Pink Cap Drive has been running since 2008 nationwide and has raised almost $500,000, with 100% of the proceeds being donated to the NZBCF. Bridgestone Tyre Centre Halswell provides tyre sales, repairs, fitting and alignments, all with the Bridgestone expectation of quality, coupled with the convenience of a customer waiting area. They stock a huge range of new Bridgestone and Firestone tyres on site for passenger vehicles, four wheel drives and light trucks at very competitive prices, with the added convenience that customers should be able to source a replacement tyre ex-stock. Their highly trained staff will carry out an electronic four wheel alignment for you and their competitive pricing means they can always match and often better any competitor price on tyres. n Pop in to Challenge Halswell and Bridgestone Tyre Centre at 345 Halswell Road or ring the service station on 322-7137 and Bridgestone Tyre Centre on 322-1046.

Concern over flooding BY GRACE CABELL

Residents living near a proposed subdivision in Halswell are concerned they would be left vulnerable to major flooding issues. A 320-home subdivision, named Meadowlands, is intended for development on Hendersons Rd. The consent process for the Meadowland subdivision stated that property owners in Hendersons Rd “would not be adversely affected by this subdivision.” But residents have said the current farmland area had already caused flooding issues, and was only getting progressively worse. Riccarton-Wigram Community Board member and Halswell resident Debbie Mora said she first noticed the issue after doorknocking residents in the area. She found more than 90 per cent of residents said they already had flooding issues. “How can we not be adversely affected when we are already affected?” said Ms Mora. No application for the subdivision was yet received but with ongoing discussions an application was likely to be lodged soon. The subdivision would be used as an exemplar project under the city council’s Land Use Recovery Plan. Community board chairman Mike Mora was also concerned

FLOODED: The view from one resident’s home on Hendersons Rd. Residents have said the flooding issues caused by the current farmland area was only getting worse. about how the development could impact homes backed onto the farmland. “Its ability to actually absorb more stormwater discharged from another 70 odd hectares of residential development is in our opinion very suspect,” said Mr Mora. Community board members have argued the north Halswell area, separated from the Hen-

dersons Basin area by Sparks Rd, was relatively low lying and ponding of water already occurred during storm events. The land had been subject to extensive planning over the last decade, through the South West Area Plan. As part of that work, there had been extensive investigations into flooding and stormwater management across the

wider North Halswell area. Properties identified by the community board were situated between Hendersons Rd and the north east Halswell farmland. Mayor Lianne Dalziel said one possible outcome would be to involve a joint workshop from two community boards to inform the public, where those who were interested in the issue could attend.

Big names for Lyttelton event Christchurch mountain bikers James Minty and Nick Jordan will be lining up again in the Lyttelton Urban Downhill on November 2223 after a long wait. Minty won the junior section last year and the overall winner from last year, Cam Cole, who is also from Christchurch, is yet to be confirmed for the event. The mountain biking event was postponed in March due to rain and a landslide that caused a gas spill at the port. Other professional riders from the rest of the country and Australia will also line up. Queenstown legend of dirt and slope style Kelly McGarry will be riding and course designing for the King of Dirt event. McGarry is famous for his double back flip across the canyons of Utah, placing him second in the 2013 Red Bull Rampage. He was also an invited rider to Vienna Air King in 2010. Event organiser Andrea Murray said they were still waiting for a few more pro riders yet to confirm. “We understand riders are in their off-season, needing a break, but just in case they want to come and ride we have numbers put aside for them. This event has a definite feel-good factor for everyone in the New Zealand mountain bike community,” she said. November was agreed on to accommodate the New Zealand pro riders who will have only just arrived back from the gruelling

FOCUSED: Nick Jordan concentrating in last year’s event. Northern Hemisphere season. Course designer Nick Sutcliffe has a few surprises for the 1.2km long downhill course on Sunday, as well as the addition of an Urban King of Dirt event on Saturday evening. Ms Murray said this event is unique in that it is grassroots driven. “When we began in March 2012 we were aiming to provide a fun course for gravity riders who had been without any tracks on the Port Hills, since February 2011. “Now the event has a large following. It is very visual and media driven, with a live stream for both events. We have been determined to keep this a free day out for the 4000 expected spectators. “Finding funding has its challenges, and we continue to

look for a naming sponsor, which will move the event forward into 2015 when we negotiate the joining up with the City Down Hill World Tour,” Ms Murray said. This year, the Huxster Mountain Bike Trust and event organisers thought it better for Lyttelton businesses if they bring spectators through the tunnel for more than one day. To get to Lyttelton this year, organisers have asked that you consider leaving your car in Heathcote and taking a free shuttle provided by the event organisers or even better, catching the regular service of the 28 or 535 buses from Northlands or Eastgate. Parking will be available at the Naval Point Yacht Club for a gold coin with the free shuttle to bring you to Lyttelton, where parking will be very limited.

A career that makes a difference Recruiting Now The Department of Corrections in Canterbury is currently recruiting for exceptional people to join the Corrections’ team in Community Corrections and Canterbury Prisons.

“We are looking for a certain sort of person” says Trudi Hazeldine, Corrections Recruitment Adviser, “A person who wants to work with a great team, to make a difference in the lives of others and is a great listener and communicator. The right sort of person and life experience is just as valuable as particular degree or qualification.” The next intake of new Corrections Officers will begin in February 2015 with initial training provided to successful candidates. Corrections staff are a close-knit group of people who are passionate about what they do. Many staff in Canterbury prisons have worked at Corrections for 10 years or more. In addition to day-to-day management of prisoners, Corrections staff are committed to supporting prisoners’ rehabilitation and reintegration, and helping offenders gain the skills and behaviours to maintain a crime-free life in the community. Experienced Senior Corrections Officer Paul Witterick agrees this is a varied, fulfilling and challenging career. While there is daily routine, he says “interacting with a

variety of people is what makes the job really interesting for me. There are many opportunities to get involved in other areas and for career development.” He believes that the work carried out by Corrections Officers really counts, and it appeals to those who want to have a positive effect on people’s lives and public safety. Paul enjoys seeing the gradual changes in behaviour that occur because of the positive role models he and his colleagues provide. “We encourage the benefits of communication and cooperative types of behaviour,” Paul says. He values the camaraderie of working as part of a team all pulling together, celebrating the small successes each day brings”. There are huge rewards too, “This is a job where you can make an enormous difference; in the life of an individual, their family and the community as a whole.” Paul wholeheartedly recommends the role of a Corrections Officer to others who understand that life is a challenge and want to make a difference. To find out more about working with Corrections in Canterbury, go to www.corrections.co.nz or contact Trudi Hazeldine, Recruitment Adviser, Southern Region on (03) 345 6776, E-mail: trudi.hazeldine@corrections.govt.nz.

Movement and Posture Assessments are designed to identify and remove inefficient movement patterns, allowing you to generate the speed, power and agility you want. agility you want. Previously the domain of professional athletes, this is now available to anyone. The assessment utilises the dynamic Functional Movement Screen (FMS), a ranking and grading system of seven key movement patterns that are critical to normal function. By screening these patterns, the FMS readily identifies functional limitations, asymmetries and faulty movement patterns leading to various compensations, sub-optimal movement patterns, poor biomechanics and possibly contributing to future injury, as well as increased microtrauma to your joints. Once your Movement and Posture Assessment has been analysed, your physiotherapist will specifically prescribe an individualised corrective programme that will eliminate your inefficiencies and maximise your performance. he Christchurch Casino New Zealand Trotting Cup took place at Addington Raceway on November 11. The vivacious atmosphere drew trotting fans as well as fashion followers who indulged in the day of fun and glamour. Under the blazing sun, elegant ladies and stylish gents vied in the best dressed contest, while on track muscular horses whipped the ground to clouds of dust and the excitement grew to fever pitch, driving frenzied punters to leap and shout as the winners crossed the post. Some tote tickets were cashed in, and others torn up to blow away on the breeze, accompanied by the sounds of celebration or disappointment.

Ao Tawhiti Unlimited Discovery Burnside High School

A

small team of enthusiastic students from Ao Tawhiti Unlimited Discovery is proud to be representatives of their school for the EVolocity High School Competition coming up on November 30, where these young people will showcase an electric vehicle that they have designed and built from the ground up. The project, which they have been working on since early in the year, has not been without its challenges. They have had to learn design and engineering processes, construct the vehicle, test it and refine it. In the spirit of the competition, this project has seen the students recycle old bicycles and incorporate them with some custom-designed features. During the project’s development students have worked largely independently, but have also connected with a range of key mentors to help guide the project as they went. A particularly proud moment for the team was the development of the steering system. A multitude of factors had to be taken into account, including a slight slant to the vehicle that was included for stability control. Eventually the group settled on a rope and cog system that has been working well and is nice to drive. An added complication for this group is the transient nature of the school in postearthquake Christchurch. Formerly two central city schools, Unlimited Paenga Tawhiti and Discovery 1 have merged into a new school in 2014 and are operating out of two campuses in temporary buildings. Designing and building an electric vehicle with limited space and resources have forced this group to find creative solutions

to a number of issues. Team leader Toby Spanton reflected that having 10 people in a small workspace made clear communication and processes an essential requirement for success. With great teamwork, they were able to overcome all obstacles and deliver a final product that they are all proud of. As an Enviroschool, the team has received generous support from Enviroschools who have provided some funding and mentoring to enable their project to get off the ground, which the team are extremely grateful for. The team would also like to acknowledge the supportive efforts of Jared, Bry and Edward in helping make this project a reality.

urnside High School has relished the challenge of combining engineering, electronics, programming, design and media together in the EVolocity electric motor sport event, culminating in a speedway competition at Ruapuna Raceway in November. The Burnside teams have gone for streamlined and low three-wheeled designs, and have spent hours of time thinking through where to put things, where to source things and where to store things. Michael Perry 13MUB, Sam Churcher 12WWL, Armand LeRoux 12SMPP, Rewi Haar, Crystal Li and Tony Lee 12SMVV make up Team 1; Josh Lowe 12NLOD, Jonathan McKay 13 GVK, Angela Li 10SHRM and Caitlin Penny 11NBYS make up Team 2; and Arron Prattley 11WBFU and Ryan Yardley 11NCHB make up Team 3. The Burnside plan was to order in a prototype cart, thanks to the generous funding by the Burnside High School PTA, that had some steering and gearing preconfigured. The goal was to then modify and develop from there. Michael Perry is

the chief engineer who has built and assembled the trike in Team 1. Jonathan McKay, Josh Lowe and Arron Prattley are the other builders across the school. The bikes eventually arrived and it has been a busy process of development, investigation and a bit of trial and error to get the bikes up to a safe racing level. This is a truly cross departmental activity where the students have had to liaise with staff from physics, engineering, electronics, maths and digital. This is a fantastic opportunity for the school to participate in and has allowed students to experience a ‘blue skies’ project, where they set the specifications and constraints and then realise them. Some students have negotiated this into their subject areas and are able to be assessed against the standards appropriate. The best part of this is where the students get exposure to professionals and push the key competencies of managing self, relating to others, participation and contributing with their communities and thinking.

Hornby High School Years 7 – 13

Transition to Yr 7—13 school a major success Kia Ora koutou. Talofa. Kia Orana. Malo e lelei. Bula. Fakaalofa atu. Hello and warm greetings to the Hornby High School community. We are pleased to acknowledge and celebrate student successes of 2014: academic, social, sporting and cultural. It is particularly noteworthy that so many of our students are committed to the principle of personal excellence and this commitment is visible in their daily lives. There is much to be optimistic about for New Zealand’s future as our teenagers move into adulthood and positions of influence and leadership. We look back on 2014 as our first year as a Yr 7-13 school and both the seamless, smooth changes and the negotiating of the unexpected challenges that we experienced along the way. It is heartening to note the Hornby community’s support for Yr 7-13 education with the increased Yr 7-8 numbers enrolling for 2015. Because of this Yr 7-8 roll growth the Ministry of Education has committed to building further Yr 7-8 classrooms as quickly as possible. These new classrooms are in addition to our planning for our wholeschool rebuild, construction for which is due to start term 3, 2015. Hornby HS is in a most fortunate position. I wish to thank the Hornby community – individuals, social organisations and businesses – for its continued financial and moral support over 2014. This support makes a positive difference – many individual students received significant opportunities that they wouldn’t have otherwise – and we are grateful. My final thanks are to family and whanau. Thank you for the partnership over the year. If any member of the community wishes to talk to me about anything, please contact the office to arrange a time for this to occur. My door is open. Best wishes for the festive season and the new year. Nga mihi nui. Richard Edmundson Principal

LESS BANG: Thankfully, the fireworks season is waning for another year.

Sigh of relief at end of fireworks BY MARK THOMAS – FIRE RISK MANAGEMENT OFFICER

The week after Guy Fawkes has now passed and the bangs and crashes audible each night are starting to lessen. While the Fire Service got away with a relatively quiet time, we did attend 18 incidents that were directly attributable to fireworks and a few that we can’t be certain about. In the latter category were two instances of dogs trapped in fences, one at about 9.30pm and the other at 2.45 in the morning. I say these may have been firework related because these types of animal rescue are few and far between and normally during the day. If they were the result of firework use or misuse then that alone would be reason enough in my mind to end sales to the public. Mind you, the effect of fireworks going off in a car in Halswell in the early hours of last Sunday morning meant the complete loss of the vehicle to fire. That would surely have ruined someone’s night. We now move further towards summer with some hot, dry nor’westers sure to feature. The habit of lighting fires that Guy Fawkes encourages has already seen an increase of such events in grass, skips and bins. Combined with warmer weather and wind, that could spell trouble. So, once again, we ask for early reporting and keen eyes giving descriptions, or better still, names, of those who think lighting fires is clever, exciting or an opportunity to give the finger to the rest of us.

C

hronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is when the breathing passages (airways) in your lungs are obstructed and your lung tissue is damaged. This causes difficulty in breathing. The early stages of COPD are often unrecognised, but it is very easy to determine whether a person is at risk. If you answer yes to three or more of the following questions, you could have COPD. • • • • •

Are you a current or ex-smoker? Do you cough several times most days? Do you bring up phlegm or mucus most days? Do you get out of breath more easily than others your age? Are you over 40 years old?

If COPD is detected early, there are options and treatments available to help improve quality of life and prevent further deterioration of lung function. Talk to your doctor if you think you are at risk or to find out more about COPD. Join us at The Canterbury Horticultural Hall, Riccarton Avenue, on November 19 from 10.30am to 2.30pm. Free entry - all are welcome. Free information and advice, health professionals are available to answer your questions. For more information about the expo, contact Can Breathe on 366 5235, or go to www.canbreathe.org.nz.

Miracle weight loss fruit

A

n extract of a small pumpkin-like fruit called garcinia cambogia from India and Asia has shown itself to greatly assist weight management and overall health. In fact, many have found it to increase fat loss by two to three times greater than normal. The Dr Oz Show on television has said it is the most effective and fastest working natural supplement to support weight loss. The extract of this amazing fruit is called Hydroxycitric Acid (HCA) or CitriMax. Research has shown HCA to help suppress the appetite, reduce cravings, feel fuller for longer, increase energy levels, help prevent fat from being made and stored in the body, increase lean muscle mass, increase

E

serotonin levels in the brain that help control mood and sleep, improve cholesterol levels that may help reduce the chances of strokes and cardiovascular disease, help prevent sugar spikes as well as other health benefits. It is considered a very safe supplement (although check first if you are on medication) as it has been used for centuries as a flavouring agent and digestive aid. To obtain reliable results it is important to take a product that contains a standardised extract of 60 per cent HCA and also take the recommended amount as used in the clinical research. Some supplements also contain ChromeMate to help improve the results. Contact Marshall’s Health and Natural Therapy, phone 388 5757.

Belly fat - a serious health concern

xcessive fat accumulation around the belly not only affects the way you look but increases the risk for diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, cancer and stroke. The good news is belly fat can be reduced, and this may reduce the chance of serious disease. Exercising regularly, drinking plenty of pure water, increasing fibre intake, reducing or eliminating sugar, reducing carbohydrate intake, having smaller meals regularly and having more protein with each meal can make a difference. The right supplements may also improve results considerably for many people. Garcinia cambogia (Super CitriMax) provides Hydroxycitric Acid (HCA) that researchers have found to help stop fat

being made and stored in the body. It is also effective at suppressing the appetite, reducing cravings and keeping you feeling fuller for longer. For effective results, it should be taken 45 to 60 minutes before each meal. SafSlim is a product that has been shown in one study to reduce belly fat up to six times faster over a 16-week period while at the same time increasing lean muscle. One tablespoon of the great tasting syrup should be taken twice a day before meals. A daily fibre drink and a lower bowel tonic can help improve weight loss. A cider vinegar drink can improve digestion, overall health and the metabolic rate, and has been found also to be very beneficially for weight loss. Masport wood fires are made in New Zealand, enabling operational spare parts to be made available for purchase up to 15 years from the last date of manufacture. Wood is cost-effective, making it the cheapest form of heating. As wood is a renewable energy source, it is a sound environmental choice. South Island Hardware has an extensive range of freestanding and built-in wood fire solutions for you, clean air fires that meet the Ministry for the Environment and Environment Canterbury standards, rural fires for properties situated on two hectares or more. Trust South Island Hardware to keep you warm throughout the year. *All new wood burners must meet the emission standards set by the Ministry for the Environment and Environment Canterbury.

This means our team can show you which system and brand will best suit your needs in either your workplace or home. We are also able to repair any brand of heat pump. he abundance of benefits offered by this home can be yours today. Think about 774m2 of colourful lawns and gardens where outdoor living and fun can be enjoyed. Hide behind established substantial fences and lap up the canvas of colour, relaxing knowing that “you’re home”. Entertain in comfort and style as you and your guests flow from living/dining/lounge out to and in from north-west patio and lawns. Four double bedrooms (one could be an office) caters for either the mature or growing family, while the family bathroom and en suite facility ensures that everyone gets on their way without delays in the morning. A nice touch here is the totally separate internal laundry with ample storage and with space for coats and garden clothes etc, with access to and from the garage and the drying courtyard.
